Complianz vs CookieYes (2026): plugin or platform?

Templates Rocket · Updated October 2026 · 6 min read

Short answer: both are Google-certified, both support Consent Mode v2 and IAB TCF on paid plans, and both have over a million WordPress installs. The real difference is the model. Complianz is a plugin with a flat yearly price by number of sites and broad legal documents for Europe. CookieYes is a hosted platform billed per domain by pageviews. Past one or two sites, Complianz is usually cheaper.

Pick Complianz if

  • You run several WordPress sites and want one flat price with no traffic meter.
  • You need European legal documents (privacy statement, Impressum, processing agreements) generated in the same plugin.
  • You want consent records stored in your own WordPress database.

Pick CookieYes if

  • You run sites on platforms other than WordPress and want one dashboard for all of them.
  • You have one low-traffic site and the free plan's 5,000 pageviews a month is enough.
  • You prefer a hosted service that handles scanning and records for you.

A lighter flat-price option

Cookie Rocket Pro uses the same flat model as Complianz at a lower price at every tier ($49, $144 and $297 for 1, 5 and 25 sites) and adds what both leave out: per-visitor law for Mexico (LFPDPPP) and Brazil (LGPD), with the banner in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and a generated Mexican privacy notice. It is not a Google-certified CMP, so for personalized AdSense in Europe, choose Complianz or CookieYes.
