Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how templatesrocket.com uses cookies and similar storage in your browser.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember things like your sign-in or your preferences. Local storage and session storage do a similar job, but they stay in your browser: they aren't sent to our server with every request.
Essential cookies
These are set only when you sign in to your account. Without them, signing in doesn't work.
- __Host-tr_acct: keeps you signed in. Expires after 7 days.
- __Host-tr_dev: a random ID for this browser, so we can email you when your account is used from a device we haven't seen before. Expires after 400 days.
- __Host-tr_acct_sent, __Host-tr_g and __Host-tr_pk_*: short-lived cookies that finish signing you in with an emailed link, with Google or with a passkey. They expire within 15 minutes.
Your cookie choice
Our cookie banner is Cookie Rocket Pro, the consent plugin we build. It remembers your choice with one first-party cookie:
- cookroco_consent: the categories you accepted and when, so the banner doesn't ask again. Expires after 180 days.
Purchases are completed on Stripe's checkout, which uses its own cookies under Stripe's privacy policy. WooCommerce, which also runs on this site, sets its cart and session cookies only if you add a product to a cart.
Analytics cookies
We measure how the site is used with our own analytics tool, Signal, to learn which pages help people find the right plugin. It sets two first-party cookies:
- trs_vid: a random ID that tells your browser apart from others. Expires after 180 days.
- trs_sid: a random ID for your current visit. Expires after 30 minutes without activity.
Both apply to templatesrocket.com and its subdomains, and the page's own scripts can't read them. With them, Signal records the pages you view, how long you stay and which buy buttons you click; how you arrived (the referring site and any campaign tags); your language and time zone; and technical details of your device and browser, such as screen size and connection type. It doesn't store your IP address or your location. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, Signal doesn't set these cookies.
Our pages also load Google Analytics 4 in Consent Mode. Until you accept Statistics & Analytics in our cookie banner, its storage stays off: it sets no cookies and sends Google only cookieless measurements. If you accept, it sets _ga and _ga_*, which tell your visits apart and expire after two years. Advertising storage stays off unless you accept Marketing & Advertising.
Local and session storage
Local storage stays in your browser until you clear it; session storage is cleared when you close the tab.
- cookroco_preferences (local storage): the same cookie choice, kept in your browser.
- _tra_sid (local storage): an anonymous ID for our own page-view counts, which record the page, the referring site and campaign tags, your device type and language. It isn't linked to your name or email unless you buy: when you click a buy button, this ID goes to Stripe with your checkout, so the purchase can be matched to the pages that led to it.
- trLangBar (local storage): remembers that you've closed the bar offering this site in Spanish.
- traA11y (local storage): the accessibility settings you choose, such as bigger text or higher contrast.
- traHide (session storage): hides the accessibility and help buttons until you close the tab, if you choose to hide them.
- tr_em (session storage): the email you typed on the sign-in page, kept while you switch sign-in method or language, and deleted as soon as it's filled back in.
- catrp_visit (session storage, on the Catalog Rocket demo): the campaign tags and referring site of your visit, sent with the demo's download form if you fill it in.
Managing cookies
To change or withdraw your choice, use Cookie settings, at the bottom of every page. You can also clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies keeps you from signing in to your account. To stop Signal's analytics cookies, turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser.
For site owners
Cookie Rocket brings the same approach to any WordPress site.
